Apple TV+ will host Friday’s game between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros with the first pitch scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Texas will start Martin Perez (2-2, 2.01 ERA), while Houston will counter with Cristian Javier (2-1, 3.20 ERA).

Rangers (17-20) dropped Game 1 of their four-game series 5-1. The game was 2-1 for Houston in the first set, and they added to their lead with a brace from Martin Maldonado in the eighth to secure the victory. Perez has already faced the Astros once this season. He pitched seven innings and allowed only two hits and one earned run while striking out four.

The Astros (25-14) are still atop the AL West and are coming off a series loss to the Boston Red Sox but managed to win Game 1 of this series. Javier usually comes in relief from the bullpen, but gets the go-ahead to start today. He took the win against Texas last month when he pitched five innings and allowed four hits and two earned runs.
