Krafton fixes a connection error with BGMI; downtime coincides with a server issue in Fortnite
Battlegrounds Mobile India players have reportedly encountered an issue logging into the game with the first event reported on December 29, 2021. Game publisher Krafton acknowledged the issue and started working on it the same day. On the official BGMI website, Krafton also informed players that they had identified the login failure issue some players were facing. However, the problem now appears to be resolved.
In an interesting turn of events, BGMI’s downtime on December 39, 2021 coincided with Fortnite‘s downtime, where players of the popular game Battle Royale were unable to log into the game. Fortnite users encountered an issue signing in to the game. However, the issue was resolved shortly after it was reported and the game came back online on December 30 at 5:20 am IST.
BGMI down: What happened?
In an update on the same report, Krafton notified users who resolved the issue on December 30, 2021. During the BGMI downtime, several players took to the game’s Facebook page and attached captures screen of error message stating “Server authentication error. Connection Fsick.“However, the error was not encountered by all BGMI players, some players have also reported that the game is working fine for them. Krafton has yet to reveal the cause of the problem.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Christmas Update Launched
Most recently, Krafton released the new BGMI 1.8 update for all gamers. The BGMI Christmas Update is now available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The new update will allow players to celebrate the holiday season and Christmas through in-game events and rewards. Along with the BGMI 1.8 update, Krafton has released a new mode called React Survival. Other new items include winter-themed myths, costume sets and more.
The new React Survival mode is inspired by the popular Netflix series called Squid Game. As seen in one of the most popular episodes of Squid Games, BGMI players will wear blue tracksuits with numbers and compete against each other in a reaction game inspired by the Red Light game – Green Light from the series. To win against other players, a player will have to reach the finish line undetected. Players will also have the option to play privately with friends by creating rooms.
