Hot Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm almost here
ALFA Romeo’s most powerful and capable vehicle in decades is about to arrive in Australia, with the Giulia GTA and GTAm set to hit local showrooms starting at $ 268,000 and $ 288,000 plus road costs respectively.
Based on the already wild Giulia Quadrifoglio ($ 138,950), the GTA duo is powered by the familiar 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engine, but power has been increased from 375 kW to 397 kW while torque is increased. remained stable at 600 Nm.
As before, the drive is routed exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The extra firepower mixes with reduced curb weight to launch aggro sedans from 0-100 km / h in 3.6 seconds; shave 0.3 seconds off the standard car time.
More than just a traffic light hero, Alfa’s engineers have also set out to thwart the foundations of the Quadrifoglio to make it as GTA capable on the track as possible, which the GTAm takes to another level compared to the GTA.
Upgrades from the latter include carbon ceramic brake discs, Lexan rear window, Sparco sport seats, carbon fiber roof and front end, widened front and rear tracks, 20-inch wheels single nut, a Sauber Aero kit, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, a central Akrapovic exhaust and Alfa’s DNA Pro drive mode system now with “ Race ” mode – launch control is also featured according to the Quadrifoglio.
The GTAm meanwhile raises the stakes with an even more aggressive aero kit, Sabelt carbon fiber sports seats, black six-point harnesses and a roll bar in place of the rear seats.
Other highlights of the dynamic duo’s standard equipment include an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, fully Alcantara-covered interiors, matte carbon interior accents, numbered steering wheel badge, unique exterior badges , a carbon fiber grille and mirrors, colored brake calipers and the Experience Pack ‘, consisting of a certificate of authenticity, a racing helmet personalized with the serial number of the car and a Goodwool car cover while GTAm customers will also score an Alpinestars racing suit.
Three colors will be offered on both GTA and GTAm; Montreal Green, Trofeo White or Edna Rosso, the latter being exclusive only to these two variants.
Customers will be able to customize the look of their GTA by configuring the color of the brake calipers, interior seams, seat belts and roll bar (GTAm only), but 18 examples are available in our marketplace with GoAuto after contacting the Australian branch of Stellantis for confirmation of the final split.
“What makes this vehicle truly unique is the personalization offered to the lucky 18 Australians who will soon own a special piece of Alfa Romeo history, being one of the 500 vehicles produced worldwide,” said Tom Noble, director of communications for Alfa Romeo, in a statement.
“As part of the exclusive worldwide program, the 18 Australian owners will receive a certified and numbered vehicle and will also have the possibility to personalize their GTA … reminiscent of the spirit of the Giulia GTA of 1965.”
The first deliveries of the GTA and GTAm are expected to be made towards the end of the year, with the Italian brand having sold 104 Giulias by the end of April, accounting for 2.4% of the mid-size car segment over $ 60,000.
