Handshake mobile B2B e-commerce application
After a funding round of $ 14 million, software company Handshake launched a new service for the company.
Reports On Friday, April 22, Handshake launched the mobile version of its B2B e-commerce service, which means wholesalers and suppliers can connect with potential buyers on mobile phones and tablets.
Handshake Direct Mobile will first see a version for Apple iOS devices, with a launch for Google Android hardware later this year, according to reports.
Handshake, which provides inventory management software, has entered the B2B ecommerce game with Handshake Direct, a cloud-based platform that can help retailers restock when inventory levels are low.
The solution is integrated into the ERP, invoicing and logistics systems of suppliers.
Last year, Handshake revealed a partnership with an SME accounting firm Xero to streamline the accounting process in Handshake’s purchasing and inventory management solutions.
According to the company, this automation is part of an effort to reduce errors in the inventory management process. A mobile solution can help with this initiative, with Handshake Mobile Direct allowing users to scan barcodes to automate data entry.
In an interview with DC speedHandshake CEO Glen Coates highlighted the potential for significant errors if even a single number is wrong in a vendor’s inventory management process.
“If you mess up a single-digit SKU, then the customer gets a few pallets of the wrong soft drink,” he said. “It’s a costly mistake to correct, not to mention the length of time the retailer doesn’t have the product on their shelves. “
In March, Handshake announced a $ 14 million round of funding led by Sozo Ventures, bringing its total funding amount to $ 23.5 million.
