Dr Disrespect is hosting a $100,000 Zero Build Fortnite tournament later this month

The popularity of fortniteZero Build mode is underway. Dr Disrespect is set to host a new Zero Build tournament, the streamer announced today. The Hot Shot Duo Drop will take place on May 27 and will feature a $100,000 prize pool.
There have already been several Zero Build tournaments to date, with different rule sets. The Dr Disrespect Tournament is a race of duos, with players taking to public lobbies and scoring points by registering as many eliminations as possible over a set amount of time.
While the excitement around Dr Disrespect and his events remains high, there remains a question regarding his streams and other projects, like this tournament: Can streamers on Twitch participate? This was also the exact question Jake Lucky of Full Squad Gaming was asking.
While the legal battle between the Doc and Twitch is seemingly over, his channel remains banned indefinitely. As such, no one on Twitch can stream playing Dr Disrespect since streaming a banned user’s game violates Twitch’s Terms of Service.
It is therefore unclear exactly how Twitch will handle potential streamers wishing to participate in this event and stream while playing it. The promotional material features a photo of Dr Disrespect, but his name does not appear anywhere in the actual tournament title. This may be intentional, trying to provide Twitch streamers with a loophole through which they can participate. Still, the relationship between Twitch and the Doc is frosty at best, meaning it wouldn’t be surprising to see Twitch ban users from streaming themselves while playing the event anyway.
The Hot Shot Duo Drop is set to begin on May 27 at 3:00 PM CT. Viewers can most likely expect more information about the tournament and its participants over the next week.
