A Black Lady Sketch Show: Season 3
(2022)
(HBO)

What it is: From the mind of creator and star Robin Thede, A dark lady sketch show is a half-hour comedy series that features some of the funniest women in entertainment playing characters so over-the-top and hilarious, they’re worth watching over and over again.
Why you should watch it: The first to make headlines in her long list of TV “firsts” (first writers room composed entirely of black women; first female sketch director for black women; and first sketch series cast composed entirely of black women), she has proven its staying power by sticking to its roots, finding laughter hilarity in the ultra-specific, and flexing an HBO budget that expands what sketch comedy can truly look like. Season 3 premieres April 8 on HBO.
Where to watch: HBO Max
Commitment: About. 6 hours (for the first two seasons)

Awakened: Season 2
(2022)
(Hulu)

What it is: This comedy series from Keith Knight and Marshall Todd follows Keef, a black cartoonist on the verge of mainstream success when an encounter with racist cops leaves him recalculating his relationship to art, Blackness and the work he creates.
Why you should watch it: We crowned the first season as “a messy conversation worth watching,” and that’s largely thanks to a pitch-perfect Lamorne Morris, who as cartoonist Keef Knight gets his best gig since new girl. Expect bolder humor with touches of surrealism when Season 2 premieres April 8 on Hulu.
Where to watch: Hulu
Commitment: About. 4 hours (for the first season)

100%

Better Call Saul: Season 6
(2022)
(AMC)

What it is: Have you ever wondered how, exactly, breaking BadMust Saul Goodman be so viscous? AMC’s acclaimed prequel series, You better call Saul, is here to help. The companion project satisfactorily builds on Vince Gilligan’s original drama, while consistently creating an identity of its own for viewers of all stripes.
Why you should watch it: The series takes on a character we think we know – the Saul Goodman who breaking Bad‘s Walter White finally meets in this strip mall in Albuquerque, New Mexico – and breaks it down into its nuts and bolts, starting with Jimmy McGill. Played beautifully by Bob Odenkirk in what could become his career-defining (certainly career-changing) role, Saul/Jimmy and his rocky partnership with Jonathan Banks’ Mike Ehrmantraut make this a must-watch binge for any high-profile TV buff. – breaking Bad fanatic or not. Season 6, You better call SaulThe final airing of will air on April 18 on AMC and AMC+.

But with intersecting family loyalties at stake as he plots life as an outlaw, the drama and violence quickly escalates.
Why you should watch it: Pardo offers a star-studded ride as the central protagonist, and co-stars Clayton Cardenas as EZ’s brother Angel, Edward James Olmos as their father Felipe, and their ensemble of largely Hispanic artists the all meet mark for bloody mark. Season 4 premieres April 19 on FX.

Russian Doll: Season 2
(2022)

What it is: Russian doll is just your typical sitcom about a wise New Yorker who gets stuck in a time loop where she dies and lives the same day over and over again until she learns to deal with her childhood trauma. That is to say nothing about it is at all typical.
Why you should watch it: Natasha Lyonne, a longtime actress, has never looked better than she is on Russian doll. His singular wit and sensibility mesh perfectly with co-creators Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler to build a series that is as funny as it is dark and moving. Season 2 will premiere on April 20 on Netflix.

Why you should watch it: You’ve never seen Kaley Cuoco like this. The star and executive producer was rightly nominated for an Emmy for Season 1, and we can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for the second round. introduce himself as his fellow flight attendant with a secret? Barry: Season 3
(2022)
(HBO)

What it is: Bill Hader stars as Barry Berman, a Midwestern hitman who, when he travels to Los Angeles for a job, unexpectedly takes an acting class and contemplates a career change.
Why you should watch it: Henry Winkler is gifted with the kind of career-ending role that the Happy Days The TV veteran has long earned washed-up interim coach Gene Cousineau. (And he’s got the Emmy to prove it!) He’s got reason enough to listen barry, but there is the main character himself. Hader has never been so good as a hitman-turned-aspiring actor — circumstantially funny as a fish out of water, extolling the seriousness of a leading man as a morally torn hero, and even exuding unexpected sex appeal as a former Marine. Season 3 premieres April 24 on HBO.
Where to watch: HBO Max
Commitment: About. 8 hours (for the first two seasons)

His fight for independence begins with the help of his estranged father (Ray Romano).
Why you should watch it: Co-creators Dean Bakopoulos and Christina Lee struck gold by casting Milioti as the romantic lead on a mission. Its comedic timing matches the dramatic chops demanded of their genre-melding material. It’s a star trick. Season 2 premieres April 28 on HBO Max.
