5 GTA 3 characters who betrayed Claude but paid dearly for him
Claude betrays criminals almost as often as he betrays himself in GTA 3; it’s every man for himself.
GTA 3 starts with Claude at its lowest point. His former lover and longtime accomplice had overtaken him in a bank robbery. Left for dead and in custody, Claude manages to escape and free himself from his bonds.
Her only goal in life is to defeat Catalina and her Colombian cartel.
Across Liberty City, Claude multitasks for different gangs. However, if he doesn’t betray them first, they certainly will.
Claude has made several dangerous enemies in GTA 3. At the end of the game, however, players can make sure that he is the only one standing.
Five times a GTA 3 betrayal didn’t end well for Claude’s enemies
# 5 – Catalina
Catalina has always had backstabbing trends, dating back to GTA San Andreas (which took place nine years earlier). She had already left Carl Johnson for Claude. But what happens happens to Claude – Catalina decides he lacks ambition and almost kills him.
She could no longer be wrong about Claude. Although he lacks a chatty personality, he makes up for it in his actions. GTA players will go through the whole game with a clear goal in mind.
Claude seriously wants to weaken his forces before taking on Catalina personally.
At the climax of the game, Catalina dies in a flaming explosion via a rocket launcher. Even with the great distance between her helicopter and the mainland, Claude was not going to let her do everything. Without his two-stroke nature, they would have been undisputed rulers of the underworld.
# 4 РSalvatore L̩one
Claude didn’t realize that CJ was indirectly responsible for Salvatore Leone’s startling betrayal in Last Requests. The Mafia Don could once reliably rely on his henchmen to do his dirty work.
After CJ blindly robbed his casino, however, he became a very suspicious person.
When Salvatore’s wife, Maria, told him that she was seeing Claude, it undoubtedly influenced his decision to attempt an assassination. Although Claude always follows his orders, Salvatore makes a preventive gesture on his life. He told her to pick up a vehicle that was about to explode.
Maria ends up warning Claude in advance. GTA players have a new employer in Asuka Kasen, leader of the Yakuza. She instructs Claude to sever his ties with the Mafia and he complies by bringing Salvatore out in front of his club.
# 3 – Michel
Miguel doesn’t do much in GTA 3. He’s Catalina’s right-hand man, which should make him a powerful threat. However, this is undermined by the fact that it came out in a cutscene. Miguel simply chose the wrong side.
During an intense moment of construction, Claude had both Miguel and Catalina at gunpoint. He wants them to hand over an important package.
While Miguel gladly tries to comply, Catalina is disgusted by his weakness. She shoots Miguel and leaves him for dead as she escapes.
Miguel is worse than any other antagonist. He begs Claude to save him from Asuka’s anger, who falls on deaf ears. Miguel is left tortured for a long time before Catalina returns to kill him and Asuka.
# 2 – Courtney King
Courtney King is the Jamaican patron of Uptown Yardies. Although he never makes a physical appearance in GTA 3, he gives missions via a pay phone. Claude is in charge of eliminating the rival gangs on the left and on the right.
However, unbeknownst to Claude, her nemesis Catalina makes a secret deal behind her as Courtney changes allegiance and leads Claude into a death trap.
In the Kingdom Come mission, GTA players must detonate suicide bombers before they detonate them.
The Jamaican leader is lucky to only make a vocal appearance in the game. Otherwise, it is likely that Claude would have killed him in cold blood. As it stands, Courtney is one of the very few enemies to make it out alive.
# 1 – Various criminal gangs
Claude works for so many criminal organizations, it is inevitable that he will be on the wrong side with most of them. Although he works closely with them, either he betrays them or they betray him.
From the Leone family to the Uptown Yardies, his former allies have become enemies during the events of GTA 3.
By the end of the game, almost all gangs are hostile to the GTA player. Five out of seven gangs will shoot Claude on sight if they see him. Only the Southside Hoods and the Yakuza remain on good terms.
Nevertheless, the damage is already done – Claude reigns supreme in the criminal landscape of Liberty City.
