Since the “Rocket Launch” event, the Fortnite developers have reproduced this formula by adding another one for almost every season of the game. At the start of the seasons, each event has transformed the map and some have even continued until the season. next (like The Cube which lasted from season 5 to season 6). However, in recent times, events have not been as straightforward as before.
Every few months, each event gets bigger and better, with new things added each time to make it more interactive. Fans aren’t just watching the event anymore, they’re a part of it now, which is probably why it has remained so popular with the fan base.
ten Rocket launch (season 3)
It’s hard not to respect âRocket Launchâ for being the first to launch an incredible trend that all fans look forward to every season. This was the event that started it all and created the first major change to the Fortnite map, which involved the destruction of Dusty Depot.
Thinking back to that event, the Fortnite map is so different now. Even though this was a quick and short event, in which players had just watched a rocket crash into the map, it is still a special memory for fans.
9 Unvaulting (Season 8)
In Season 8, the giant safe on the map remained a mystery to fans. At the start of the event, players were able to enter the vault and choose the item they wanted to return to the game.
It was one of the first interactive events on Fortnite and it was exciting to see fans working together and making their choices. Additionally, Tilted Towers was destroyed during this event, which many players have been waiting for for many seasons.
8 Butterfly event (season 6)
Fortnite always wows fans with their events, and this is the first time they’ve literally blown them off the map into another dimension. At the end of the “Cube” era, the mini-island above Loot Lake also came to an end.
Players were able to leave the island of Fortnite for the first time and were all floating in an unknown dimension until a snap brought them all back into the game. Of course, the map underwent a huge change when players were income, making this event exciting and unexpected.
7 Star Wars (Chapter 2 Season 1)
This event brought villains from a distant galaxy directly into Fortnite, as fans got to watch a real war between the Resistance and the First Order. This event even hosted famous guests in the game, like actor Ben Schwartz.
As the battle drew to a close with the thrilling Star wars music, JJ Abrams, the director of The Rise of Skywalker, came out of the Millennium Falcon and allowed players to vote for an exclusive clip to watch from the film ahead of its release.
6 The end (season 10)
This was the event that marked the end of Fortnite’s first chapter, leading to a whole new chapter, with new collaborations, a new map, and new additions to the game.
Being Season 10, fans knew they were going to get a huge surprise from this event, but what they weren’t expecting was the black hole that left many fans waiting for hours for the start of the next season. It took two full days before the start of the next season, making this event full of excitement and anticipation.
5 The device (Chapter 2 season 2)
For the very first time, players got to see the storm completely destroyed and replaced with water. Not only that, but during the event there were also snippets of an outside look from the people guarding Fortnite Island, which appeared to be Jonesy in an office.
During the event, players were able to play a match with a water storm, leading up to the new season which brought water all over the map, sharks, and even an Aquaman skin to the game.
4 Astronomical (Chapter 2 Season 2)
Of each event, the Travis Scott Astronomical Concert was one of the most immersive experiences for fans of the game. It all took the form of a concert with original music by Travis Scott.
Fans got to watch a giant Travis Scott perform on the map, as well as plenty of trippy effects, including a glimpse of space in the Fortnite world. Fans also received free items for participating in this event, like a glider and emote, which is well worth it.
3 Galactus (Chapter 2 Season 4)
There hasn’t been an event that featured a villain more menacing than Galactus on Fortnite. During this event, he was literally towering over players as he prepared to eat the entire Fortnite map.
As Galactus knocked the players off their ship, they were saved by Iron Man and were later invited to join a mission to stop Galactus. Being a part of Iron Man’s mission allowed players to drive the Battle Bus and fire rockets from it, while also encountering some of the game’s other Avengers.
2 Zero Crisis (Chapter 2 Season 5)
During this event, players once again had the chance to save Fortnite Island in an interactive adventure. This time, players were able to walk around the new map to help Jonesy and other characters.
This event really started to expand Fortnite history, original characters, and lore into something more. It also acted as a teaser, allowing players to play as skins in the battle pass by having them switch characters at random, before giving them the option to purchase the pass.
1 Final Showdown (Season 9)
Even though the Final Showdown isn’t one of the more recent events, it still manages to be one of the most impressive, even though it lacks the mini-games and interactive characters from the more recent events.
In this event, the battle between the robot and the monster was incredibly cinematic and made players feel like they were watching Godzilla vs. Kong. Viewers were also able to research who they wanted to win, which put them on the edge of their seats as the battle continued.
